چکیده

The complete, historical closed-form steep lifting entry trajectory solution is documented and developed from first principles. The efficacy and accuracy of the solution is assessed for application to aeroassist missions of interest, including aerocapture and entry. Specifically, analytical assessment of the primary assumptions in the solution shows the solution is applicable across a wide range of initial states for vehicles with nonzero lift-to-drag ratios. Solution accuracy is assessed relative to the planar equations of motion; accuracy improves for steeper trajectories and larger lift-to-drag ratios. The steep lifting entry estimate of peak acceleration is shown to be accurate to within 10% for initial flightpath angles steeper than approximately -10 deg across a variety of vehicles, missions, and planetary destinations. Overall, the steep lifting entry solution provides a simple, rapid first-order trajectory solution capability for lifting aeroassist vehicles with relatively steep initial flight-path angles.

Optimal Trajectory Study of a Small Size Waverider and Wing-Body Reentry Vehicle at Suborbital Entry Speed of Approximately 4 km/s with Dynamic Pressure and Heat Rate Constraint

A numerical trajectory optimization study of two types of lifting-entry reentry vehicle has been presented at low suborbital speed of 4.113 km/s and -15 degree entry angle. These orbital speeds are typical of medium range ballistic missile with ballistic range of approximately 2000 km at optimum burnout angle of approximately 41 degree for maximum ballistic range. A lifting reentry greatly enha...

Free Vibration Analysis of a Sloping-frame: Closed-form Solution versus Finite Element Solution and Modification of the Characteristic Matrices (TECHNICAL NOTE)

This article deals with the free vibration analysis and determination of the seismic parameters of a sloping-frame which consists of three members; a horizontal, a vertical, and an inclined member. The both ends of the frame are clamped, and the members are rigidly connected at joint points. The individual members of the frame are assumed to be governed by the transverse vibration theory of an ...

Trajectory Optimization of Cable Parallel Manipulators in Point-to-Point Motion

Planning robot trajectory is a complex task that plays a significant role in design and application of robots in task space. The problem is formulated as a trajectory optimization problem which is fundamentally a constrained nonlinear optimization problem. Open-loop optimal control method is proposed as an approach for trajectory optimization of cable parallel manipulator for a given two-end-po...

Precision Closed-form Solution for Out-of-plane Vibration of Rectangular Plates via Trigonometric Shear Deformation Theory

In this study, the new refine trigonometric shear deformation plate theory is used to study the out-of-plane vibration of the rectangular isotropic plates with different boundary conditions. The novelty of the research is that the analytical precision closed-form solution is developed without any use of approximation for a combination of six different boundary conditions; specifically, two oppo...
